All Staff Picnic
Each year VPP holds a staff appreciation picnic celebrating safety performance at the Laboratory. We appreciate our staff and their committment to safety at work, home, and play.
VPP Picnic 2009
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2009 VPP All-staff Picnic. VPP proudly treated staff members to a free Rider's sausage, chips, beverage, and ice cream. Local and on-site vendors took this opportunity to provide safety products and information, as well. Thank you for joining in the celebration - you make the difference!
To show the Lab's commitment to reducing its environmental footprint, this year's picnic was a zero waste event. Recycle team staff members were available to assist participants with recycling activities. Random, on-the-spot Pollution Prevention awards were available, and local media organizations covered the event.
VPP Picnic 2008 – Approximately 1650 staff members attended the 8th Annual VPP Picnic on August 7, 2008.
Staff members were also treated to the Safety Vendor Fair, which was held in conjunction with the picnic. The vendor fair featured local vendors that showcased safety equipment available for purchase for personal use.
VPP Picnic 2007 – Approximately 1600 staff attended the 7th Annual VPP Picnic held on Aug. 2 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the BSA picnic grounds to enjoy a free Rider's sausage dog/or veggie dog, a bag of chips, beverage, and a Schwan's ice cream treat. In addition to a complimentary lunch, staff members were provided information on ergonomics, safety 24/7, nutrition, stretching, worker's compensation and opportunities to volunteer to help out with PNNL's new EPA Performance Track community outreach program. Staff also had the opportunity to read about the benefits of VPP and enter a prize drawing.
VPP Picnic 2006 – Our 2006 picnic was a huge success with more than 1,500 staff attending the safety celebration held on August 3rd. In addition to the complimentary lunch, staff members were provided with information on ISO 14001 recycling tips for their homes, health tips, demonstrations of our Automated External Defibrillators and new "Healthy Stretch" machine, as well as the introduction of the "H2O Challenge."
VPP Picnic 2005 – Our 2005 picnic served Rider's Sausage dogs, chips, pop, water and ice cream to over 1,250 staff members. Informational booths were set-up that featured AdvanceMed Hanford, ISO 14001, and the Electrical Safety Committee. With great weather, food, and company, we couldn't have asked for better!
