Voluntary Protection Program

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting PNNL's VPP

The primary value of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is the ongoing partnership between management and staff committed to change Laboratory safety culture one step at a time. VPP enables PNNL's safety and health program to transcend a top-down, by-the-book approach to safety, and it also raises grassroots safety consciousness by promoting a commitment to safety and health 24 hours a day, 7 days-a-week.

Ryan Conrad - While working in the 331G area Ryan noticed a fellow employee's foot was encircled by a cable. Ryan helped the employee get his foot free before walking. It was a clear tripping hazard, and with all the hard and sharp edges in the vicinity, Ryan's safety consciousness prevented a possible fall, not to mention preventing the potential damage to the equipment that might have been caused to the cable.
